Isabelle Lightwood is seventeen years old. She was born to Maryse and Robert Lightwood. She has two brothers, Alec and Max*. She has an adopted brother, Jace, as well. Her family means everything to her. That is where her loyalties lie, especially with Alec.

Isabelle has an severe attitude. She is quite snobbish towards mundanes, but she is slowly changing that as she gets to know some. People see her as cold-hearted and emotionless. Isabelle has a great sense of style and is usually promiscuous. She is vain and narcisstic, but slightly insecure. Isabelle possesses a fiery temper which numerous people are victims of. She has a habit of throwing temper tantrums and locking herself in her room when things go wrong. She flirts and dates many different boys, especially those that her parents would not approve of. She does this to keep attention away from Alec's sexuality. Isabelle is cautious when it comes to love. In fact, she doesn't believe in love at all. People assume that the reason she doesn't believe in love is because she doesn't know how to truly love. She greatly enjoys demon hunting, especially when being bait for the demons. Isabelle is a very free-spirited girl that enjoys partying, flirting, and clothes.

Isabelle is described as gorgeous. She has long, ink black hair and black eyes. She is said to resemble her mother, Maryse. She is quite tall (5'8''), being taller than most boys, and very slim. The blood of the angel, Raziel, runs through her veins like all Shadowhunters. Her body is covered in black markings called Runes. She has super human physiology, strength, stamina, agility, and coordination. 

Isabelle carries around a variety of weapons. In her weaponry belt, she holds mundane daggers, seraph blade daggers, and her stele. Isabelle wears a red pendant, a family heirloom, that hums against her neck when demons are present in the area. She carries a golden, electrum whip. It disguises itself as a snake bracelet until she needs it. Her whip is her choice of weapon.
